KONUMUM helps guests search places, use maps and get directions. Members can save locations, add places and comments, choose whether to appear to nearby members, and separately enable nearby messaging. Location visibility and messaging are off by default. Search and place data come from external open data sources and may be incomplete or outdated.
Business phone numbers are visible to members only. Turkish mobile numbers beginning with 05 or +905 are excluded. Displayed numbers have not been verified by KONUMUM; check them independently before calling.
Effective September 27, 2026. This notice is presented to guests and both new and existing members. The operator's legally identifying name and official contact details must be supplied by the site owner; KONUMUM.net is the service name, not a verified legal entity name.
Account email, username and password hash support sign-in; login IP and device data support security; optional GPS coordinates support search, navigation and consented nearby visibility; saved places, favorites, comments, messages and reports support the respective features and moderation.
Login and place-creation IP records and unpinned location history: up to 90 days. Nearby visibility ends within 2 minutes without an update; stale records are removed during maintenance. Ordinary chat messages expire 24 hours after each message; reported conversations are kept until a moderator deletes them. Pinned and favorite places remain until removed, subject to account deletion.
Maps, routes, weather and place searches may contact OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps, public routing and weather services and hosting providers. Nearby members see only a username and a rough distance when visibility is enabled; exact coordinates are not returned in the member list. Moderators can review active chats and reported chats. Passwords are stored as hashes.
Guests may use core features without an account. Members can disable nearby visibility and messaging, manage saved places and request access, correction or deletion of their personal data under Article 11 of Law No. 6698. A formal data controller identity and application address must be published for statutory applications; those details are still required from the operator.
Processing must have an applicable legal basis under KVKK; optional nearby visibility and receiving messages depend on separate user choices. Reading this notice is not blanket consent to optional location sharing. The identity/contact and international transfer details require review by the actual operator.
Official KVKK guidanceEffective September 27, 2026. New members accept during registration; existing members are asked to accept at their next visit before using member features. Earlier activity is not retroactively accepted. Guests retain access to the basic map, search and directions.
